Darrin Nicholas

HP1 Hockey Canada Certified Coach. Thunder Bay Kings 18U (2019 Dixon Cup Champions and 2019 National Championship Appearance) Lakehead University Men’s Hockey team - 10 years Assistant Coach (OUA/CIS.  2006 Queen’s Cup champions, 2006 National Finalists. Four national championship appearances).

Darrin lives in Thunder Bay, ON with his wife  of 26 years, Keri. He has two boys, Nolan (currently entering 4th Year NCAA D1 hockey at University of Alaska - Anchorage), and Evan (currently playing Tier II Jr. A Hockey in SIJHL).

Scott Greene

Hometown: Cedar Knolls, NJ

Team: Current Head Coach Morristown-Beard School Varsity Boys Hockey / Current Head Coach AAA New Jersey Colonials U12

Position: Head Coach 

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

A native of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, Scott has a strong presence in the mid-atlantic hockey community where he has coached at the tier-one youth hockey level for eight years. Scott has his USA Hockey Level 4 Certification and NFHS Accredited Scholastic CoachBefore entering the coaching field, Scott played Tier III junior hockey (EmJHL) before attending the University of Scranton, where he played four-years of collegiate hockey. As a defenseman he received Academic All-American honors, graduating with a B.S. in Marketing in 2010. During his time at Scranton, Scott achieved academic merit honors as a member of the Dean’s List and as a recipient of the Saint Ignatius of Loyola Scholarship and the John P. and Jean Blackledge Sweeney Family Business Scholarship.

Scott lives in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey with his wife Blair and their Yellow Labrador, Riley. 

Cale Larson

Hometown: Medicine Hat, AB

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

Cale has been playing hockey for 37 years and coaching for 11 years. He has his USA Hockey Level 2 Certification and Hockey Canada Development 1. He has coached at the elite level (AA and AAA) with associations in Calgary, Airdrie and Strathmore. His coaching experience also includes City of Calgary learn to skate and introduction to hockey program, Head Coach for Hockey Alberta at the Albert Winter Games and extensive experience in evaluation camps from minor hockey up to Junior A.

Cale currently resides in Airdrie, Alberta with his wife Kristi and their two kids Tessa and Chase.

Scott Vargas

Hometown: Tampa Bay, Florida

VP of Business Development

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

Scott started skating at the age of 5 in the non-traditional market of Tampa Bay after watching a Lightning game for the first time. He hasn’t stopped since then. Scott took the abnormal path of playing all of his hockey in Florida all the way through the junior level before playing his college hockey with the Finlandia Lions at the NCAA Div 3 level. After graduating and starting a career in Sales with a Luxury Real Estate Auction firm, Concierge Auctions, Scott decided he wasn’t quite done with Hockey yet. He ending up in Finland for 2 years playing in the Suomi Sarja and II-Divisioona leagues. Scott first joined ICEBERG in March 2017 as a Sales Agent and immediately found a passion for the product - along with a seamless transition back into the business world. Scott has been with the company through extreme growth - there are now 56 more employees and over 100 new clients in 12 new countries than in March ‘17.

Nickolas Gatt

Hometown: Farmington Hills, MI

Head of Hockey Analytics

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

Nickolas was exposed to the game of hockey at a young age, inadvertently through his older sister’s figure skating endeavors.  Since then, hockey has been a part of his life. While hockey was always a means to an education for Nickolas, he has since been able to fuse his academic education with his knowledge of the sport, resulting in a counterintuitive approach to hockey analytics. He won a state championship at the high school level with Detroit Catholic Central and went on to  play 2 years of Varsity Hockey at Alabama-Huntsville before transferring to Michigan State University, where he finished out his collegiate career with the Spartans. Nickolas takes pride in understanding the past, present, and future of the sport - while simultaneously using ICEBERG’s advanced hockey data to help teams and organizations at all levels accomplish their goals.

Blair Brewer

Hometown: Waterloo, ON

ICEBERG Territory: 

Director of Marketing

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

Blair has extensive experience playing and coaching AAA hockey in Ontario including; 10 years playing experience and 2 years coaching experience with the Waterloo Wolves organization. He played 3 years in the GOJHL before spending for 4 years running the Southwest Majors Spring Hockey Program which had 11 players selected in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Blair currently resides in Waterloo, Ontario with his 13 year old Wheaten Terrier named Cali.

Alex Dandenault

Hometown: Fleurimont, Qc

ICEBERG Territory: 

Canada East

Team: Boomerang Cégep André-Laurendeau

Position: Head Coach 

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

As a player Alex competed in the NCAA D3 at the University of Southern Maine and in the LNAH for Mission de Sorel and Cousin de St-Hyacinthe. Alex is an HP1 ceritified coach and is currently completing his HP2 certification. He has been the Head Coach at Cégep André-Laurendeau for 10 years. (2010-2011 Bronze medal,

2012-2013 Season and Playoff Champions, 2013-2014 Playoff Finalist, 2014-2015 Playoff Finalist, 2016-2017 Season and Playoff Champions, RSEQ Coach of the year and 2017-2018 Playoff Champions) In 2019 he coached the Serbian National Men’s Team in IIHF Championships where they won the D2A Gold Medal. 

Family:

 

Alex currently resides in Montreal with his wife and two kids, 2 cats Tom and Emma and their Great Dane Pacho. Mathieu Dandenault (NHL Mtl-Det) is his older brother and Eric Dandenault (AHL Hershey, DEL Augsburgh-Berlin-DEG) is his cousin.

Ryan Kosecki

Hometown: Syracuse, NY

ICEBERG Territory: 

USA Midwest

Team: Fox Motors Minor Midget AAA (U15) / Muskegon Lumberjacks USHL

Position: Head Coach / Assistant Coach

Hockey Background / Notable Accomplishments:

Ryan Grew up playing for the Syracuse Stars hockey organization, then later attended South Kent Prep School for 3 years before finishing his career with a 3 year stint with the SOO Indians of the NAHL. Ryan has his level 4 USA Hockey Certification and has won a state championship and numerous league championships as a coach. He has coached dozens of college and junior players as well as numerous NHL draft picks. In his first season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks the team set numerous franchise records including a regular season Eastern Conference championship. He is in his second season as Assistant Coach with the Lumberjacks of the USHL, and is also currently the Head Coach of the Fox Motors AAA U15 team.

Ryan currently resides in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife Megan and two kids, Harrison ( 7 year old boy) and Cooper ( 9 year old girl).
